Star Trek (TV Series And Films 1966)

Officially the longest running sci-fi TV series ever. Originally produced by Gene Roddenbury, who also worked on 'Forbidden Planet', as the thinking mans' TV serial. Featuring ground breaking (although not very impressive by today's standards) effects. To date there has been three different versions; The original 60's series with Captain Kirk, Spock and rest of the crew, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager, all with their own massive cult following. Some of the shows catch-phrases have made their way into common usage and the series has spawned film versions of variable quality and appeal.
Data, from 'The Next Generation', is a well spoken and always logical android who takes up where Spock left off. No pointed ears though!
